Double bassist and composer Bar Geva arrives at AMAMA with a new, special, one-time performance — a festive birthday show featuring friends and collaborations, presenting unique interpretations of his music and of projects he has been part of along the way.

This first-of-its-kind performance brings together some of the finest musicians in the country, with shifting and surprising arrangements that move between contemporary jazz, free improvisation, world music, and classical music.
Bar’s music travels between jazz fusion inspired by Pat Metheny and Chick Corea, 20th-century minimalism, and Mediterranean and contemporary influences — a colorful meeting point of styles, worlds, and sounds.

The compositions are marked by rich harmonies, distinctive rhythms, and innovative arrangements that draw the audience into a hypnotic, nuanced musical world.

In September 2025, Bar released his debut album Faces of Demonstration, recorded live in the studio and featuring special guests from Israel and abroad.
Bar Geva holds a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies from DCU (Ireland) and a master’s degree in Contemporary Music from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. He is currently also active with the Mediterranean fusion ensemble Ras El Hanout, alongside numerous additional collaborations.

נגן הקונטרבס והמלחין בר גבע מגיע ל-AMAMA עם מופע חדש, מיוחד וחד־פעמי — מופע יום הולדת חגיגי שבו הוא מארח חברים ושיתופי פעולה לביצועים ייחודיים למוזיקה שלו ולפרויקטים נוספים שהיה שותף להם לאורך הדרך.

זהו מופע ראשון מסוגו, עם עלייה לבמה של נגנים מהטובים בארץ בתחומם, בעיבודים משתנים ומפתיעים, שנעים בין ג׳אז עכשווי, אלתור חופשי, מוזיקת עולם ומוזיקה קלאסית.
המוזיקה של בר נעה בין ג׳אז פיוז׳ן בהשראת Pat Metheny ו-Chick Corea, דרך מינימליזם מהמאה ה-20, ועד השפעות ים־תיכוניות ועכשוויות — מפגש צבעוני בין סגנונות, עולמות וצלילים.

הקומפוזיציות מתאפיינות בהרמוניות עשירות, מקצבים ייחודיים ועיבודים חדשניים, שסוחפים את הקהל לתוך עולם מוזיקלי מהפנט ומלא ניואנסים.

בספטמבר 2025 יצא אלבום הבכורה Faces of Demonstration, שהוקלט בלייב באולפן, עם אורחים מיוחדים מהארץ ומהעולם.
בר גבע הוא בוגר לימודי ג׳אז ב-DCU (אירלנד) ותואר שני במוזיקה בת־זמננו מהאקדמיה בירושלים, ופועל כיום גם בהרכב Ras El Hanout לצד שיתופי פעולה מגוונים נוספים.
